Who We Are
BPD Community is a peer-support space for people living with borderline personality disorder (BPD), and for the partners, parents, friends and carers who walk alongside them. We started because so many of us felt alone after a diagnosis, unsure where to find information that was accurate, kind and free of stigma.
Today we share stories, practical guides and events that help people understand BPD, build coping skills and feel connected to others who truly get it.
What We Believe
- People with BPD deserve compassion, not stigma. BPD is a real and treatable mental health condition, not a character flaw.
- Recovery is possible. With the right support and evidence-based treatment, many people experience lasting improvement.
- Lived experience matters. The people who live with BPD every day are experts in their own lives, and their voices shape everything we do.
- Families and carers need support too. Loving someone with BPD can be hard, and carers deserve understanding and good information.
What We Do
- Stories and blog posts written by people with lived experience, carers and contributors.
- Plain-language guides and FAQs about diagnosis, treatment and everyday coping.
- Events and support circles, both online and in person, where people can connect safely.
- A small shop of journals, workbooks and self-care items chosen to support everyday wellbeing.
How We Work
Our content is written in plain language and reviewed carefully for accuracy and tone. Where we talk about treatment or symptoms, we draw on current research and recognised clinical guidance. We always encourage people to work with a qualified health professional for diagnosis and treatment.
Please note: BPD Community is a peer-support and information service. We are not a crisis service and we do not provide medical or psychological treatment. If you are in danger or need urgent help, call 000, or call Lifeline on 13 11 14 any time, day or night.
